Biscuitville staff and partners celebrated the opening of the new Jacksonville breakfast restaurant on Thursday afternoon with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The restaurant opened in April at 2159 Gum Branch Road.

“Sales have been tremendous,” said Tre Echols, operator of the Jacksonville Biscuitville. “We did a count. About 37,000 biscuits were made in the last month. That averages out to about 1,200 a day, so a lot of rolling out dough.”

The family-owned company serves authentic Southern food, made fresh daily from locally sourced ingredients. Known as the Home of the Biscuit Window Since 1966, Biscuitville serves scratch-made biscuits baked fresh every 15 minutes.Echols said they have plenty of other breakfast items, too, like pancakes and hashbrowns, and there are new limited time offers that come out every three months.

The business has been highly anticipated in Jacksonville during the past couple of years since word of it coming to the area first got out.

“It’s taken a lot of proper planning, from our operations team to our business development team, but the community’s opened up and welcomed us with open arms, definitely showing their support,” Echols said.

Biscuitville is open daily from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The company employs more than 2,400 people and operates more than 85 restaurants in North Carolina, Virginia and South Carolina. The company more recently opened new locations in Kinston and New Bern.

“Our purpose here is to enhance lives by serving others, just bringing that southern hospitality,” Echols said.
