Biscuitville Fresh Southern is proud to announce that Pearl Greenway, Operator of Biscuitville’s Graham, N.C., restaurant, has been named a Restaurant Manager of the Year by the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association (NCRLA). The honor was presented Feb. 23 at NCRLA’s annual Stars of the Industry Awards Gala, which recognizes the very best professionals in North Carolina’s hospitality industry.
Greenway is one of only two managers statewide to receive this distinction in 2026. NCRLA evaluates nominees on outstanding leadership, commitment to people development, community impact, and dedication to exceptional service, all qualities Greenway has demonstrated throughout her 15-year career with Biscuitville.
“Pearl represents the very heart of Biscuitville,” said Kathie Niven, President and CEO of Biscuitville Fresh Southern®. “Her passion for developing people, her unwavering integrity, and the way she cares for her team and guests set an incredible standard for our entire organization. We are thrilled to see her recognized by NCRLA as a true Star of the Industry.”
Greenway began her hospitality career as a teenager working for a small family-owned restaurant before joining Biscuitville as a Shift Leader. She quickly advanced to Assistant Manager and then to Operator, later serving as an Area Director supporting multiple locations. For the past five years, she has led the Graham restaurant, one of Biscuitville’s busiest locations and a designated Certified Training Location.
In her role as a Certified Training Manager, Greenway has developed and launched more than 30 Operators and Assistant Managers who now lead restaurants across the Biscuitville brand. Each year, approximately 10 trainees complete intensive eight-week residencies under her mentorship, learning the skills and values required to become high-performing leaders.
Under Greenway’s leadership, the Graham restaurant achieved annual sales of more than $3 million and served over 270,000 guests in the past year. Her team of approximately 35 employees consistently earns top People Excellence scores, and the location ranks among the company’s lowest in turnover, an achievement colleagues attribute to Greenway’s intentional coaching, celebration of milestones, and family-first culture.
“Pearl doesn’t just build great restaurants – she builds great people,” said Wendell Williamson, her Area Director. “When others need help, she shows up without being asked. Her generosity and commitment lift everyone around her.”
This award continues a strong tradition of Biscuitville team members being recognized by NCRLA. It marks the fifth consecutive year that a Biscuitville employee has been honored as a Star of the Industry. For more information about NCRLA and the Stars of the Industry Awards, visit www.ncrla.org.
